Rider Mania

Late November and I flew into Mumbai, drove up to Pune and picked up a Royal Enfield Bullet - 500cc, fuel injected and the perfect bike for India's roads

I had a very early rendezvous with the Guardians Motorcycle Club

- a roadside somewhere on the outskirts of Pune at 6.30am

No meet is complete in India without tea/chai
[IMG]
Kanchan was my contact in the group- she was in charge of supplying me with copious amounts of chai (tea)
holding cups of hot chai, we gathered for the briefing
[IMG]

and off we headed, the early morning road out of town - our destination Goa, 400kms south

The usual crowds were watching, each time we pulled up
[IMG]

and as usual, expressions of surprise when they realised that some of the riders were women.
A welcome lunch break - and those great words - veg and non-veg food.
I love travelling in India and the great range of vegetarian food is just one of the many reasons I love it.

Fuel stops can take a bit of time in India [IMG]

I never did find out exactly why the sheep were dyed bright pink
[IMG]

Temples and mosques are everywhere, as are unsuspecting pedestrians, wandering into the road
[IMG]

Other traffic included some slower moving vehicles
[IMG]

There was quite a holiday atmosphere as we rode, Rider Mania is a highlight on many riders' calendars for the year

Hi Tiffany!  What a fun trip!  How long did it take to reach Goa?  Yeah for all the women riders!  Continued fun and safe adventures.  Maria

Looks great!

I've always wanted to ride India on an Enfield. Is this an annual trip?
